Streamlining Drone Acquisition for a Vessel Surveying Company

The Brief

One of our clients, a Vessel Surveying Company, sought to procure two cutting-edge drones from Switzerland to enhance their operations and capabilities.

The Challenge

A significant challenge emerged as funders were unable to provide financing for purchases made outside of the UK. Consequently, the client had to bear the responsibility of purchasing the drones using their own resources.

The Solution

Before the drones were actually purchased – a proposal was submitted and approved, allowing a security for the client that they would get their funds back. After the drones were acquired and safely arrived at the clients location, a comprehensive asset inspection was conducted. Subsequently, we embarked on a diligent process of securing a technical sale & HP in collaboration with a funder who possessed a favourable outlook towards these state-of-the-art drones. With the drones now within the UK, a seamless transition from acquisition to cash funded was achieved.

The Outcome

Leveraging this purchase as a capital gains allowance, the client managed to offset the expense entirely, resulting in a loan that incurred no cost. Moreover, within the project timeline, Breadalbane provided valuable assistance by facilitating the clients engagement with a new accountant. Despite the inherent complexities associated with this unique asset, we successfully secured a suitable funder to meet the clients needs, enabling them to elevate their capabilities and enhance their surveying operations.
