The club is thrilled to share that Breadalbane Finance is expanding its partnership with Watsonians, with a strong focus on developing the women’s game in Scotland.
As part of this commitment, the Breadalbane logo will now appear not only on the back of Watsonian Women’s match shirts but also on both sleeves of all Watsonian Wildcats match shirts. The Wildcats is a newly established section aimed at bridging the gap between minis and adult rugby for girls in Scotland, and covers all the u12 – u18 teams.
Emily Cotterill, Director of Women’s Rugby, said:
“I’d like to express a huge thanks to Breadalbane for supporting the Watsonian Women and Wildcats sections this coming season. Support like this is absolutely critical in our ability to grow this pathway forward and growing the game in Scotland for women and girls. Rugby is growing rapidly and it’s a really exciting time to be involved – there are more and more personalities popping up each day which is great to see! We are delighted to have the team at Breadalbane on board, and we’re looking forward to pushing the boundaries forward together.”
Jamie Lindsay of Breadalbane spoke on the partnership:
“Breadalbane are delighted to grow our partnership with Watsonians. As part of our own strategic mission to bring our brand and values into local communities, this opportunity to help support the skill and talent in the women’s competition highlights a fantastic opportunity for us to engage with the wider rugby in a very competitive league.
We are fully committed to the game of rugby and the values it supports in creating an inclusive game for everyone and can’t wait to watch the team in action on the pitch and engage with them commercially off the pitch.”
Alistair Hamilton, Watsonians General Manager added:
“Breadalbane are one of Scotland’s leading financial services providers, and have a well-known focus on building and growing strong relationships with their partners, and so they were a really natural fit with the club.
Their decision to support Watsonian Women and Wildcats is a real statement of intent to grow the game in Scotland. We are also working on securing a date for our Women’s squad to visit their offices which is brilliant to see – it is exactly this sort of off-field engagement that really brings these partnerships to life!”
